Dining room makeover part 2

After making the false window which we first looked at and said,  "hmmm, not sure that was worth it", but now love it that it is all done, we saw this....  and off it started to come down to reveal yellow paint under the paneling.  DH said " I remember this color".  This is the house he grew up in.

The dining light was from my brother in laws house that he lost.  Not my first choice, but it works : )

After the removed the paneling this is what we had.  We removed the the window trim and the trim around the door ways.  We had to cut the trim skinnier as it was too wide now without the extra paneling.  It would also be easier to paint out of the window.

Next came the painting.  I decided to start with the ceiling.  It had not been painted since DH Mom had removed the popcorn from the ceiling many years ago.  I used the same behr paint of decorators white.  The difference was amazing and made us surprised on how dingy it looked before.

I then painted over the yellow paint and we added trim.

Tomorrow----the reveal : )

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!" Author unknown

143,000,000 ORPHANS:

It is estimated that between 143,000,000 and 210,000,000 children are orphans. That’s at least 143 MILLION children in the world today. (Recent UNICEF report.)

To give you an idea of the enormity of this need, keep in mind that the approximate population of the US is 300,000,000; and the population of Russia is 141,800,000.)

There are more orphans in Sub-Sahara Africa than ALL of the children
in Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Canada, and Sweden – combined!
