Our new floor

It all began with "Hunny, I found some old growth fir on craigslist and its wide plank."  We have been wanting to put in new floors since we moved in, but we have always been so tight with adoption costs thats its never been possible.  Although my heart is smitten for this little guy on BAAS site, Torey does not feel its time to adopt again.  If you or someone you know needs a son, please contact BAAS. Although I have never used this agency, they sound amazing with lower costs and this little guy needs a family before his chance is lost forever.

I started by removing the popcorn ceilings and painting the walls/ceiling in the hall (June 16th post). This picture is afterwards.

Then we tore out the rug in the hall.

Then the rest of the house.

Beautiful green linoleum below the grey pink flower linoleum.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!" Author unknown

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

143,000,000 ORPHANS:

It is estimated that between 143,000,000 and 210,000,000 children are orphans. That’s at least 143 MILLION children in the world today. (Recent UNICEF report.)

To give you an idea of the enormity of this need, keep in mind that the approximate population of the US is 300,000,000; and the population of Russia is 141,800,000.)

There are more orphans in Sub-Sahara Africa than ALL of the children
in Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Canada, and Sweden – combined!
