The world only experiences Him in the second mile

Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two.
Matthew 5:41

Most people will go one mile. Its easy and convenient.  It doesn't hurt and will not trouble you.  Its the minimal standards for our world.

"Ill do a little here."

"I will help if it doesn't inconvenience me too much."

"As long as it doesn't cost me anything."

The second mile, now that is where it counts.

The second mile is hard.  Its costly. It is never easy.  Its usually inconvenient.  It causes you to rise above the normal.  It can be lonely and burdensome.

But.....

It brings JOY

A Coast Guard crew was summoned on a stormy night to rescue survivors from a sinking vessel. One member of the crew was fearful: “Captain,” he moaned, “we’ll never get back.” “Our orders aren’t to come back, only to go.”

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!" Author unknown

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

143,000,000 ORPHANS:

It is estimated that between 143,000,000 and 210,000,000 children are orphans. That’s at least 143 MILLION children in the world today. (Recent UNICEF report.)

To give you an idea of the enormity of this need, keep in mind that the approximate population of the US is 300,000,000; and the population of Russia is 141,800,000.)

There are more orphans in Sub-Sahara Africa than ALL of the children
in Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Canada, and Sweden – combined!
