Emmets Foster Mom

Meeting Emmets Foster Mom was very emotional. She is a wonderful lady and it was a privileged to meet her. We got to Holt at 12:15pm. We didn’t know there was a lunch at noon. That was a little sad. Had we known we would have been there 15 minutes earlier. We decided to go eat taco bell while we waited until 1pm, when they would come back. We then went into a room and waited with a few other families. She walked in and almost ran to Emmet. She recognized him and that was so amazingly special to him. There were other children in the room and she knew him. We were the only family of hers that had come to see her. The 5 or so other families were for the other Foster Mom. Emmet did shed a few tears, which in turn made me shed a few : ) . Doesn’t take much for me. She is a beautiful woman who had foster 46 children, starting in 1994. What love. Emmet was one of the babies that were with her the longest. We told her how important the pictures were that she took and that Emmet loved the idea of her husband carrying him on his back. She said he spoiled Emmet. That brought such a smile to his face.

I really think adopted children have this space in their brain where it is empty. With birth children it is filled with memories. With adopted children, it is blank. I think most kids fantasize what they past may have or could have been and fill the holes with their own thoughts. For Emmet, I believe this helped fill those holes for him, with real memories. For my children adopted that will not ever have a chance to fill those spaces because if unknowns, I pray so much that the Lord will fill those spots His love and presence.

Thank you Mrs.Choi for loving my son.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!" Author unknown

143,000,000 ORPHANS:

It is estimated that between 143,000,000 and 210,000,000 children are orphans. That’s at least 143 MILLION children in the world today. (Recent UNICEF report.)

To give you an idea of the enormity of this need, keep in mind that the approximate population of the US is 300,000,000; and the population of Russia is 141,800,000.)

There are more orphans in Sub-Sahara Africa than ALL of the children
in Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Canada, and Sweden – combined!
