Emmets 10th Birthday

He got DSI for his birhtday (love craigslist) as he spilled o.j. on his ds on the plane ride home from China.

My boy is growing up.  9 years and 1 month ago he was flown over here by some lady he had never meant and put in our arms.  Oh, how I wish I was advised to go get him, but back them, escorting from Korea was the norm.  When we first started adopting, bonding was not talked about.  I think how much grief we could have avoided by having talked about bonding.  Now I look at him.  Our first adopted child turned 10 years old.  The joy he has brought to our life.  The goofiness.  The pokemon.  We love you, Emmet Hyun Soo.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!" Author unknown

143,000,000 ORPHANS:

It is estimated that between 143,000,000 and 210,000,000 children are orphans. That’s at least 143 MILLION children in the world today. (Recent UNICEF report.)

To give you an idea of the enormity of this need, keep in mind that the approximate population of the US is 300,000,000; and the population of Russia is 141,800,000.)

There are more orphans in Sub-Sahara Africa than ALL of the children
in Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Canada, and Sweden – combined!
