Last Friday Molly Mei (MM) had to have a nasal scope. We had this done about a year ago and it was horrific. I have been through a lot of surgeries, cant count the amount doctor visits and blood draws, a few ambulances rides, but this was in my top 2 worst appointments. The other was when Emmet was at the dentist having a lot of dental work done and he was yelling for me but they wouldn't let me in. Needless to say, I never went back there. With this appointment for MM had an army praying for her and it went well. She is my superhero. Her speech therapist did it and she was magnificent !! Her name is Mrs Andi and I highly recommend her. Torey had gone with us and at one point in time during the procedure I had to clear my throat to get him to look at me and did the "you better get that scared, grossed out look off your face" look. He got the hint. : ) We see Dr Kuang at Shriners and Dr Garfunkal (or something close to that)for the orthodontist. Her scoping came out great and she has closure with her palate. That is very good news. They were talking about putting her in an appliance for her cleft, but wanted to take a panoramic x-ray if her teeth to see where they were at. Cleft kids sometimes get teeth growing in odd places. Place MM cleft is in the middle of her mouth. Usually with bilateral cleft, they are off to one side. They did the x-ray and the plans changed. Although they usually wait until kids are older to the bone graft, with MM they need to do it now. Her teeth are starting to come down and some are completely absent. On May 9th, 5 days after Tasjas wedding, we will have the surgery. Six weeks of puree food and little activity. I am just going to take her out of school the month of May.
